Bachelor's degree in systems engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced Systems Engineer. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The individual in this position will work in a highly collaborative environment with peers, associate contractors, military personnel and senior government personnel supporting a classified program at NBK, Bangor, WA. The selected candidate will lead a team of experienced GDMS individuals in System Administration, Electrical, Optical, and Mechanical Engineering and Tech Support of the end product. This individual must have Electrical and Mechanical Engineering experience and/or experience as a System Administrator in a Microsoft Windows environment. They will assist with the repair, and upgrade activities on a classified system. This will include software updates, hardware refreshes/modifications, and electrical and fiber testing. The person in this position must also coordinate with all associated contractors and government officials as the primary liaison for data management, system auditing and data distribution.
Additionally, the individual will have either been a Certified Navy Instructor or have experience in personnel training processes and or techniques. They may function as an instructor and/or training facilitator, to include working with the management team to schedule training and training exercises. They may develop and/or modify course content, learning objectives and prepare course lesson plans and student manuals. Evaluates training materials and procedures and/or recommends revisions to these materials and procedures in order to insure that training courses remain current and compliant with prevailing standards and mission objectives.
