  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.


    Department of Defense TOP SECRET security clearance is REQUIRED at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a O&M Subject Matter Expert. This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.



    The successful candidate is responsible for providing technical support as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all local hardware, software and network issues for the USFK C2BMC systems in a 24x7 operations and test environment.


    • This position requires the ability to work independently on multiple tasks that involve interfacing with the warfighters to provide second level technical support, providing on-site troubleshooting of C2BMC assets located in USFK, and interfacing with the C2BMC Command Center (CCC) Level 2 team for all escalated issues. 
    • Candidate will also perform all software installs and upgrades to the C2BMC systems assigned to their AOR. 
    • Candidate will be responsible for the sustainment of all USFK C2BMC physical inventory including spares and COMSEC devices and provide accurate documentation of all inventory movement. 
    • Performs other related duties and assignments as required.


    Position is normally Monday to Friday, but may require on-call, evening and weekend support during system anomalies and or tests.   Previous experience maintaining C2BMC systems desired.




    • Experience in system and/or network administration (UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cisco).
    • Experience with operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems/networking environments.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and emergency maintenance on hardware and software components.
    • Experience in installation of hardware, software and information assurance patches.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


    Bachelors degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9 years of professional experience. Candidate must meet certification requirements of DOD 8570 IAT level II (Security +, etc).
