  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.


    • Candidate must have more than 5 recent (i.e. less than 2 years removed) years of experience in a software engineering role
    • Strong programming skills in PHP
    • Strong programming skills in Javascript, Angular
    • Strong programming skills in C#
    • Experience in SQL
    • Rudimentary knowledge in Network Architecture and networked programs
    • Experience in secure programming for web application development
    • Experience with the software development lifecycle to include requirements definition and unit testing
    • Experience in developing cyber security, malware analysis or digital forensics applications



    • Graduate degree or active progress in obtaining a graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
    • Experience in Java, C, C++, Python
    • Rudimentary understanding of protocol analysis
    • Rudimentary understanding of malware analysis or reverse engineering
    • Experience in digital forensics

    Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Interim Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Software Engineer.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.


    Key Responsibilities


    This position will be performed as a member of the research and development organization within a national cyber center.  The candidate will be actively investigating and developing new software tools and techniques in performing digital forensics, automated malware analysis and cyber intelligence. 


    The candidate should have strong algorithm, software design, and software development skills with an understanding of low level OS and system operations.
