General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Submarine Combat System Test Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will provide senior level testing support for the AN/BYG-1 Tactical Control System (TCS). This position provides an opportunity to directly support one of our nation’s core defense/intelligence systems. The TCS program is looking for a former US Navy Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT), to provide full time on-site testing support at the Fair Lakes Office in Fairfax, Virginia. Occasional travel is required to support testing in Pittsfield Massachusetts, Newport Rhode Island, and potentially other East Coast testing sites.
Provide testing support for the AN/BYG-1 Tactical Control System (TCS). Conduct Test & Evaluation (T&E) of software applications and tools for new and existing programs. Responsibilities include assisting the team with software installations, build quality checkouts, and executing formal verification test procedures. Duties include providing shift reports, test reports, system troubleshooting, verification of software bug fixes, and validating that new software implementation will meet the sailor’s needs. This position requires occasional 2nd and 3rd shift support as well as potential travel to support East Coast testing sites. Candidates are expected to provide strong work ethic with a passion to deliver high quality products to the US Navy.
US Navy Submarine Fire Control Technician (FT) experience is REQUIRED.
Candidate should be capable of understanding and providing technical evaluation of multiple software baselines. This position requires the ability to multi-task while working independently and within dynamic team environments. Candidates must possess high attention to detail, strong verbal and written communication skills, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Network and system administration and troubleshooting experience in a Linux environment
