  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience to meet managerial expectations.

     

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    This postion requires a minimum of an active TS/SCI clearance. Must be willing and able to obtain a polygraph within a reasonable amount of time after hire, with acceptable timing determined by manager. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

     

    The Engineering and Operations Lead will be responsible to oversee the service operations of assigned personnel and provide engineering services (hardware/software/networking). The individual will be responsible for meeting network availability metrics (system component up/down time) as required by contract (SLO) requirements.

    • Experience with network/system monitoring/management tools such as ClearSwift, Splunk, OpenAudit, and SolarWinds
    • Experience with working with Windows and Red Hat Linux based systems
    • Project management experience, to include certification and accreditation of Multi-Level systems and implementing security practices in SAP/SAR environments
    • Experience in creation and implementation of certification and accreditation packages using JSIG, DJSIG, DCID 6/3, JAFAN 6/3 and DIACAP
    • Analyze and resolve multiple complex problems across a wide variety of projects
    • Manage a risk profile and design effective mitigation strategies while maintaining national level system security accreditation requirements
    • Skilled at executing complex tasks and must be able to participate in program and team strategies for multiple projects
    • Provide strong technical direction in linking project strategy to business roadmaps
    • Will interpret the technical, organizational and process aspects of multiple projects as they pertain to customer requirements
    • Oversees, manages, and leads various teams, consisting of System Administrators (Windows and LINUX), Network Engineers, Database Administrators and Information Assurance Staff
    • Brief and communicate with high level management and government officials
    • Evaluate vendor products
    • Oversee implementation of testing strategies and document results
    • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
    • Participates in special projects as required
    • Ability to proactively identify issues and resolve and make suggestions for improvements to the environment

    The successful Engineering and Operations Lead must have:

    • Strong communications background (written, spoken)
    • Experience presenting technical concepts to a variety of audiences
    • Strong experience cultivating and maintaining relationships
    • Must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and be able to handle multiple tasks with little supervision
    • Project management experience, to include implementing network security practices in SAP/SAR environments
    • Experience in creation and implementation of certification and accreditation packages using JSIG, DJSIG, or current government accreditation standards
    • Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with Trusted computing based systems concepts, cross domain solutions, Red Hat Enterprise LINUX (RHEL) systems and other DoD classified systems requirements
    • Demonstrated experience with logical and systematic conversion of customer and or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
    • Demonstrated experience working with DoD classified IT system security configuration and processes is essential
    • Experience in the following areas is required: DoD accreditation processes, DoD network security configuration practices, software development processes, cross domain solutions and public key infrastructure
    • Demonstrated experience with performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies and requirements allocation that translate customer requirements into hardware and software solutions
    • Applicants must be able to obtain a DoD 8570.1 certification at the IAM Level I 
    • Must be willing to travel in support of business needs
