    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Electronic Warfare (EW) Chief Engineer to join our team in our Fairfax, VA location.  The selected candidate will be responsible for defining and maintaining the current and future system architecture needs of critical Navy systems. This position provides an opportunity to lead the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to build and further advance GDMS software systems and applications.

     

    Within GDMS, Chief Engineers lead the research, design and development of systems hardware, software, software applications and/or tools for designated programs and subprograms. The Chief Engineers work directly with the GDMS program teams and the program’s customer program office and technical design agent to ensure system design meets the required program specifications and goals. The Chief Engineer responsibilities also include business development support in the form of proposal responses, white papers, and technology roadmap development.  

     

    The successful candidate will ideally have the following:

    • Demonstrated EW, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Information Operations (IO), RADAR, and Communications (Comms) experience, with 15+ years of relevant experience.
    • Demonstrated experience with tactical data integration from the sensor to the combat system.
    • Spectrum Management experience within Joint Electronic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Real time Spectrum Operations (RTSO).
    • Communications Electronic Support Measures (CESM)/SIGINT experience.
    • Experience with Radar Electronic Support Measure (RESM)/ELINT.
    • Ability to monitor Blue Fore Command and Control (C2).
    • Radar (Passive and Active) expertise.
    • Cyber and Advanced Information Operations (IO) experience.
    • Demonstrated experience as a technical lead on proposals which contain significant engineering content
    • Experience in full engineering lifecycle to include: concept development, customer engagement and shaping, solution and proposal creation, design, integration, test, verification, validation, logistics, training, sustainment and obsolescence handling.
    • Experience designing, specifying requirements, inspecting, verifying, and debugging RF systems to include the following elements: antennas, RF distribution systems, RF filtering technologies (such as different types of band-pass, low-pass, and high pass filters), LNAs, IP2/3, phase noise, ADCs, DACs, high-power amplifiers, phase-matched systems, and RF link budgets.
    • Ability to shape market opportunities, influencing external customer and is recognized by both customers and EW community as a subject matter expert.
    • Ability to drive the development of new innovative technologies through research and development discrimination
    • Superior oral and written communication skills.
    • Active TS/SCI clearance
    • Ability to travel
