  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related specialized area or field is required (or equivalent experience) plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

     

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Department of Defense TS SI/TK security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Integration and Test Engineering Lead.  This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation’s core defense/intelligence services and systems.  General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.

     

    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Assessing of the system level functional and performance requirements that directly support the EW/IO mission needs given a multi-mission environment
    • Working closely with the engineering and capture teams to define software and integration/test environments and methodologies to perform integration and internal and formal customer testing of subsystems and the system as a whole
    • Development of integration and test approaches as part of an Agile Development methodology as well as the process of defining formal IV&V and C&A test plans and procedures
    • Familiarity with the FCA and PCA process along with the associated deliverables
    • Planning for the coordination of all testing, ATP and regression testing at the SIL as well as at Government locations/facilities
    • Managing of the incremental integration, testing and demonstration of systems level functions that correspond to specific system and/or derived requirements
    • Development of the buildup, integration and system level test approaches and plans that tie back to operational needs, goals, and missions
    • Evaluate Customer requirements as they apply to the system level capabilities and performance to include preparation and delivery of customer briefings and capability demonstrations
    • Support business development activities through analysis of customer and market requirements and the suitability of vendor products/capabilities
    • Recommend the development of new capabilities in support of market and customer needs

     

     

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    • Supports the planning of technical approaches, resources, schedule, budget and equipment required for testing and evaluating new systems, products and special devices
    • Executes the test approach and document system verification throughout the engineering development lifecycle
    • Generates system test work products by applying the appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools
    • Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products
    • Develops and conducts functional, environmental, operational, and/or performance tests on hardware, software, and systems
    • Assists with the design, development and implementation of cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting of hardware, software and systems for all phases of product development and manufacturing
    • Isolates and documents issues and defects
    • Supports the generation of technical engineering products by using the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the system development life cycle
    • Researches and analyzes data, such as customer design proposals, specifications and manuals to determine feasibility of design or application
    • Provides leadership and/or direction to lower level employees, may supervise lower level employees
    • Exercises latitude in technical objectives of assignments
    • Leads technical tasks for small teams or projects
    • Begins to provide engineering support to proposals
    • Guides the successful completion of major programs and projects
    • Frequent contact with managers within and outside of Engineering
    • Frequent contact with project teams across the company
    • Frequent contact with external customers and vendors
    • Occasional contact with Business Development
    • Recognized internally and/or externally as a subject matter expert (SME) in multiple technical areas
    • Travel may be required


    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Understanding of surface, subsurface, airborne communication system operations
    • Developed Test Plans and Procedures
    • Served as both an Integrator and System Tester along with a Test Director for an ATP
    • Experience with defensive and offensive EW/IO as it relates to platform(s) survivabilit
    • Knowledge of comms signal processing techniques
    • Understands EW/IO system architectures
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan and conduct large system integration and test
    • Demonstrated ability to successfully plan, conduct and manage Customer expectations regarding C&A testing
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct internal subsystem integration and test and eventual sell-off to Systems Engineering
    • Previous experience as an IPT Lead
    • Able and willing to travel CONUS 25-50%
    • Strong use and understanding of test engineering concepts, principles, and theories
    • Contributes to the development of new theories and methods
    • Actively contributes to the achievement of business objectives
    • Strong knowledge of other related disciplines
    • Strong in Microsoft Office applications
    • Strong knowledge and experience with object oriented programming, system processes and scripting languages
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Ability to think creatively
    • Good at multi-tasking
    • Skilled in communicating issues, impacts, and corrective actions
    • Strong ability to clearly report information relevant to sound test engineering
    • Strong awareness of business objectives and Engineering's role in achieving
    • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success, meeting and exceeding personal and team commitments
    • Strong understanding of basic project leadership principles including cost performance, schedule milestones, Earned Value, Cost Account Management (CAM), key performance parameters and Statistical Process Controls
    • Strong ability and willingness to help anticipate and shape business opportunities


    PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor’s Degree with at least 8-10 years’ experience with ESM/IO domains of EW.
