  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in a related specialized area or field or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.

     


    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

     


    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Demonstrated experience in the field of digital media forensics
    • Understanding of computer file systems (primarily Windows, Linux)
    • In-depth experience with file system forensics
    • In-depth experience with mobile device forensics
    • In-depth experience with registry analysis
    • In-depth experience with Internet history analysis
    • Understanding of managing complex large data set analysis
    • In-depth experience with timeline analysis
    • Experience with forensic media imaging
    • In-depth experience with email analysis
    • In-depth experience with signature and hash analysis
    • Understanding of steganography and encryption detection and analysis
    • Demonstrated experience with forensics tools such as EnCase, Forensic Toolkit, Cellbrite, Paraben
    • Strong documentation and written communication skills with technical report writing experience

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Senior Digital Forensic Analyst to join our team. The position provides an opportunity to develop the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's fundamental defense services. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to analyze information and intelligence relevant to threats facing the systems, infrastructure, and resources critical to the nation.     REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    • Provides digital forensic examination supporting counterintelligence, insider threat and security cases
    • Conducts incident response procedures to triage and collect evidence with proper chain-of-custody
    • Creates forensic images on collected evidence in preparation for examination
    • Conducts forensic examination on a variety of digital media including Windows and Linux hard drives, thumb drives, media cards, cell phones and other mobile devices
    • Creates detailed notes on processes undertaken and develops narrative forensic reports
    • Assists the customer in developing new and innovative forensic processes and procedures
    • Operate and maintain digital forensic lab environment to include building/configuring workstations, installing/updating software, applying security patches and inventorying equipment

     



    PREFERRED DEGREE TYPES AND EXPERIENCE:

    • BS in Computer Forensics, Compuster Science, Management Information Systems or related
    • Industry standard certification(s) such as: DoD, CFCE, ACE, GIAC, EnCE
    • Forensic tool and script development
    • Programming experience
    • Law enforcement/counterintelligence investigation experience and understanding of search and seizure
