  • Basic Qualifications

    Associate’s degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

     

    Department of Defense SECRET security clearance is REQUIRED at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an Advanced Hardware Integrator to support 1st Shift (8am-4pm).  The position provides an opportunity to develop and advance the cutting-edge technology that supports our nation’s fundamental defense services. Employees work closely with the government to develop solutions that allow them to carry out submarine missions. The selected candidate will work with collaborative teams to deliver end-to-end solutions in mission systems integration, development, and operations support to fleets and the organization.

     

    Key Responsibilities

    The Advanced Hardware Integrator will work with the 1st Shift team to analyze, design, develop and test GDMS systems to ensure the integration of software, hardware, reliability, maintainability, safety and other requirements in the total engineering effort. Additional responsibilities include working with the team to discuss products with external vendors and customers; create Bill of Materials, configure lab environments, define hardware specifications and other requirements. This individual will also work with the team to conduct software/hardware critical item tests as well as configure and troubleshoot system hardware and software. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.  Works under general supervision and may provide direction to other employees with similar duties. 

      

    Required Advanced Level Skill Sets

    • Work with a team to troubleshoot and repair hardware problems

    • Work with a team to cable equipment racks to support system hardware components

    • Work with a team to prepare drawings documenting as-built configurations of lab environment(s)

    • Work with a team to configure servers, network devices and peripheral equipment

    • Good organizational and communication skills

    • Ability to move heavy computer equipment (35-70 lb servers and power supplies) onto 6 foot tall racks (top rack includes network switches and cabling and at eye level and below includes servers)

     

    These skills are a PLUS

    • CompTIA A+ certification

    • Strong math background
