  • Basic Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in software engineering or a related technical field is required (or equivalent experience), plus a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Agile experience preferred.

     

    MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

    • 10 years of experience developing comprehensive and innovative technical solutions with at least 2 years of experience with 1 of the 3 major cloud service providers (Amazon, Microsoft, or Google)
    • Experience architecting and migrating on-premises applications onto a cloud platform
    • Significant experience in developing cloud deployment scripts, such as Cloud Formation, to reliably recreate cloud infrastructure
    • Experience in using features of cloud platforms, such as auto-scaling, persistent storage, monitoring tools, etc.
    • Experience in estimating need for human resource hours needed to accomplish project goals and tasking human resource hours efficiently

    CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
    Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

    Responsibilities for this Position

    General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for a Cloud Developer. This position provides an opportunity to work as a part of a dynamic and innovative defense/intelligence organization to further advance the cutting edge technology used within the organization. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.  This position will afford the opportunity to work closely with other innovative engineers to provide high end solutions for the customer, as well as the ability to contribute to the pioneering of new solution frameworks within the defense/intelligence community.

     

    REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

    • Developing cloud deployment scripts, such as Cloud Formation, to reliably recreate cloud infrastructure
    • Researching features available in the Cloud environment, evaluating, and bringing solutions to fruition
    • Troubleshooting issues with the generated cloud infrastructure and resolving the solution to the completion
    • Mentoring less experienced cloud developers and software engineers to become more familiar with the Cloud environment
    • Supporting the migrations of new and existing applications to the Cloud environment
